Gabriel Agbonlahor suspended by Aston Villa as club investigate shisha pics

Gabriel Agbonlahor is suspended by Aston Villa as the club launch an internal investigation over pictures of him allegedly smoking a shisha pipe in Dubai.

Aston Villa have announced that Gabriel Agbonlahor will not feature in this weekend's Premier League match against Chelsea as he is under investigation by the club regarding his recent holiday to Dubai.

Pictures emerged over the weekend of the 29-year-old allegedly smoking a shisha pipe while on a mini holiday in the United Arab Emirates during the international break.

Via Twitter, the Midlands outfit confirmed on Friday morning that Agbonlahor will not be in tomorrow's squad nor will he be available for selection while the investigation is ongoing.

Villa tweeted: "Gabby Agbonlahor will not be involved in Saturday's early afternoon clash with @ChelseaFC. An internal investigation is currently underway. While this is being conducted, Gabby Agbonlahor will not feature."

On the pitch, Villa have had a horror season and are destined for the Championship as they are currently at the bottom of the league table, 13 points from safety with seven games remaining.

The club are also searching for a new manager following the departure of Remi Garde on Tuesday.
