Luis Suarez: 'For now, I will stay put at Liverpool'

Luis Suarez admits that he will stay at Liverpool for the new season because of the "affection" showed to him by the club's fans.

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has reportedly admitted that he will remain at Anfield for the new season, despite previously claiming that he wants to leave the Merseyside outfit.

The Uruguay international has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, who are said to have had two bids rejected by their Premier League rivals, one thought to be worth £40,000,001.

Despite Suarez publicly stating that Liverpool have broken their promise of allowing him to leave the club for Champions League football this summer, it appears that the prolific forward has had a change of heart.

South American journalist Martin Chaquero revealed Suarez's U-turn yesterday, but comments from the player himself have since appeared in Uruguayan newspaper El Observador.

"For now, because of all the affection of the people, I will be staying," Suarez told the publication.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers recently claimed that Suarez will have to apologise to the club for his conduct if he wants to play in the first team again.
