Midfielder Jack Wilshere reportedly agrees to snub the Olympic Games in order to travel with Arsenal on their preseason tour of the Far East.

Jack Wilshere has reportedly agreed to sacrifice his dreams of representing Team GB at this summer's London Olympics in a bid to guarantee that he is fully fit for the start of Arsenal's Premier League campaign.

The 20-year-old, who has not made a single appearance this term, was ruled out of Euro 2012 and the Gunners' end-of-season run-in yesterday.

He was still hopeful of making the Olympics in July, however he has been persuaded against the idea by Arsene Wenger and will now take part in the Gunners' pre-season tour of the Far East instead, according to The Mirror.

Wilshere had described himself as "devastated" by the news that he will miss the rest of this season.
