Scottish League One roundup: Airdrieonians, Brechin City win

Airdrieonians and Brechin City both win in Scottish League One, while Arbroath miss the chance to close the gap on East Fife at the foot of the table.

Airdrieonians beat Dunfermline Athletic 2-0, while Brechin City ran out 2-1 winners over Ayr United in Scottish League One this afternoon.

Keigan Parker put Airdrie ahead midway through the first half and James Lister wrapped up victory in the last minute of the match.

Goals from Craig Thompson and Craig Molloy were enough to give Brechin a 2-1 win, despite Alan Forrest's goal for Ayr United with 15 minutes remaining.

Twelfth-placed Arbroath missed the chance to close the gap on East Fife this afternoon, as they surrendered a 2-1 lead with four minutes remaining and drew with Stenhousemuir.

Paul McManus put Arbroath a goal ahead after 30 minutes, but Ben Greenhalgh equalised less than 10 minutes later.

Bobby Linn put Arbroath ahead again with 20 minutes remaining to give the Red Lichties hope of closing the gap on East Fife, but Sean Higgins grabbed a leveller with four minutes remaining.

East Fife drew 1-1 at home to Stranraer. Nathan Austin put the home side 1-0 up in the first half, but Scott Robertson levelled with 13 minutes to go.
