Ajaccio 1-0 Brest

Ajaccio defeat Brest 1-0 at home in Ligue 1, thanks to a second-half goal from Mehdi Mostefa.

Mehdi Mostefa's goal in the second half saw Ajaccio muster a 1-0 victory over Brest at home in Ligue 1 on Saturday.

The hosts could have broken the deadlock in the ninth minute, had Brest goalkeeper Alexis Thebaux not managed to parry away Adrian Mutu's shot.

Brest had a chance of their own minutes later as Bruno Grougi smashed his volley against the post from a Ben Basat cross.

Mutu went close for Ajaccio again, but once more he was denied by Thebaux.

Paul Baysse came close for Brest in the early minutes of the second half when he headed just inches over the home side's crossbar.

Two minutes later in the 56th minute Ajaccio went ahead, with Mostefa's volley deflecting into the net off Baysse.

Brest failed to create any meaningful opportunities for the remainder of the game, as Ajaccio won 1-0.
