Accrington Stanley have signed former Huddersfield Town midfielder Josh Windass on a one-year contract.
The 19-year-old, who has featured heavily for the club in pre-season, has praised Stanley boss James Beattie for his role in agreeing terms.
"I'm buzzing about it. The gaffer has been different class and it's a great start to my first taste of first team football," he told the club's official website.
"I've been playing youth-team football which is all pass and move and nice stuff but at this level it's all competitive and you have to win. It's a great opportunity.
"I can think about the season now and how hard I need to work to get in the team. I want to just get myself in there and start playing games."
A number of Football League clubs had also been linked with a move for his signature.
