League Two roundup: Burton Albion crowned champions

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's League Two action as Burton Albion are crowned champions, with Bury securing the last automatic promotion place.

Burton Albion have clinched the League Two title after coming back from 2-1 down to win 3-2 with 10 men against Cambridge United.

Phil Edwards's 25-yard strike secured Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's side three points, as the Dutchman clinches the title and maintains his impressive record of just two losses in 26 games.

Shrewsbury Town had to settle for second in the league as they were beaten 2-0 at home by Plymouth Argyle.

Bury claimed the last remaining automatic promotion place, as Tom Soares's second-half strike was the only goal in their encounter with Tranmere Rovers.

Both Wycombe Wanderers and Southend United will have to settle for playoff football, after Wanderers' late 3-2 win over Northampton Town and a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Morecambe condemns Phil Brown and Gareth Ainsworth to fight it out later in the month.

Hartlepool United came back from three goals down to secure a point, as Preston North End loanee Jordan Hugill scored a brace for the North-East side.

Oxford United beat 10-man Newport County 1-0, after Michael Flynn was sent off on the stroke of half time.

Accrington Stanley came from a goal down to win 2-1 against Mansfield Town, as Terry Gornell and Seamus Conneely both scored second-half goals.

Stevenage secured a playoff place despite losing 2-0 away to Luton Town, as goals from Michael Harriman and Mark Cullen sealed all three points.

Exeter City finish in the top half of the table after they were victorious over Dagenham & Redbridge, winning the game 2-1.

Bradley Halliday cancelled out Matt Tubbs's late opener for Portsmouth, as York City snatch a point at Fratton Park.

Jack Smith's equaliser for AFC Wimbledon earnrf the Dons a point at home against relegated Cheltenham Town, who broke the deadlock through Durrell Berry.
