Milan overcome resilient Palermo

AC Milan have overcome a resilient Palermo team, after Carlos Bacca scored a brace in the 3-2 victory at the San Siro.

It was the Colombian striker that broke the game's deadlock in the first half, as he smartly finished a back-heeled lay-off from Giacomo Bonaventura inside the area.

The visitors replied shortly after, as Oscar Hiljemark equalised 10 minutes after Bacca's opener for MIlan, diverting a header while diving backwards past a helpless Diego Lopez.

However, Milan retook the lead shortly before half time as they picked up a free kick outside the area, minutes before the break.

Bonaventura stepped up and curled the ball over the wall and into the top left-hand corner to make it 2-1.

Milan remained in control after the break but conceded another Hiljemark goal, who latched onto a nicely worked passing move, breaking the offside trap and then sliding past the Spanish goalkeeper.

The Rossoneri responded immediately, as Bacca went up the opposite end and scored his second with his head, putting the ball past Stefano Sorrentino in the Palermo net.

Hiljemark had the chance to score his hat-trick, as he struck from distance to the right-hand side of the goal, only for Lopez to parry it out for a corner.

The win puts Milan in 10th, while Palermo stay seventh in Serie A.
