Tom Daley: 'England teammate Jack Laugher doing amazing stuff'

Tom Daley tells Sports Mole that fellow English diving sensation Jack Laugher is "doing some amazing stuff".

English diving starlet Jack Laugher is "doing some amazing stuff", teammate Tom Daley told Sports Mole this evening.

Daley, diving's poster boy in Britain for several years, looks set to be joined in the limelight by teenager Laugher after his three-medal haul - two golds, one silver - at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Daley, 20, was particularly impressed by the way Laugher has climbed his way up the world rankings since a disappointing 27th-place finish at the London Olympics in 2012.

"I mean Jack's doing some amazing stuff and his diving has come on leaps and bounds in the last year or two," Daley told SM at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh this evening, after missing out on synchronised 10m gold with James Denny by the smallest of margins.

"He's really impressive because he didn't have as much experience in 2012 with the way he dived and I think that taught him a lot - his performance in the prelims in London.

"He's come a long way from that, he's got stronger, his dives have got better and he's up there consistently performing with the top guns now. He just has to keep going with it, keep working hard, like he does. He's a hard worker and we all are on the team."

Daley will look to earn Glasgow gold like Laugher when he competes in the final event of the Games' diving - the 10m individual platform - tomorrow.
