England's Sarah Barrow: 'I was flat in 10m individual final'

Team England platform diver Sarah Barrow has revealed that the effort she puts into the 10m synchronised events can affect her performance in the individual disciplines.

Barrow's comments come after she finished ninth in the individual final tonight, a day after winning silver in the synchro with partner of four years and fellow Plymothian Tonia Couch.

"Individual is always quite hard for me because I always put so much effort into synchro," she told reporters. "All that effort and anxiety I put into synchro, so by the time I get to second day, I'm a little bit flat."

Barrow, 25, also said that she had been hampered by a recurring problem in her leg.

"I've had a pretty tough year, to be fair," she added. "This is my 10th meet or something like that.

"Midway I had an operation in my leg so to be fair, I'm pretty happy that I'm actually keeping going, because my leg's been pretty sore since September and it's still sore now."

Barrow is confident that both she and Couch will be representing Great Britain at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in two years' time.
