England's Matty Lee fights back from a poor start to win the bronze medal in the men's 10m platform diving competition at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

England's Matty Lee edged his way into the bronze medal spot in the men's 10m platform diving final at the Commonwealth Games.

The Olympic champion was far from his best on Sunday after winning 10m synchro gold with Noah Williams, who was also bidding for an individual medal.

Lee was sixth after his second dive following a poor entry into the water from his armstand triple tucked backward somersault, and he had to fight to rise back into the podium places but did so with aplomb.

Lee scored three 9.0s for a stunning four-and-a-half tucked forward somersault to finish with a total of 477.00 points, which was more than enough to clinch the bronze medal.

Williams - who led after round one - attempted the same skill on his final dive, but he over-rotated and ended up with his worst score of the day to finish seventh with 408.90.

The gold medal went to Cassiel Rousseau of Australia, who broke the 100 barrier with his own four-and-a-half somersault which was even awarded a 10 by one judge, albeit with a line through.

Rousseau totalled 501.30 to take the Commonwealth title, pushing Canada's Rylan Wiens (492.80) down to the silver medal position in the process.
