Taylor suffers whitewash defeat at GSOD

Phil Taylor has suffered a 5-0 defeat to Darren Webster at the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton.

The six-time champion had already qualified for the last 16 but he was embarrassed by Webster, who capitalised on Taylor missing all seven of his attempts at a double.

In the other game in Group D, Darryl Fitton edged a last-leg decider against Ian White to finish as runner-up to Taylor and progress through to the second round.

Michael van Gerwen has topped Group A after a 5-1 win over Max Hopp, and he will be joined by Brendan Dolan who beat Martin Adams by a 5-3 scoreline.

Gary Anderson made sure that he finished in first place in Group E with a 5-2 win over Alan Norris, while Glen Durrant whitewashed Nathan Derry to earn a place in the knockout rounds.

Benito van de Pas beat Adrian Lewis 5-2 to secure top spot in Group H, and he is joined in the next stage by Chris Dobey, who recorded a 5-3 triumph over Scott Mitchell.
