Phil Taylor has recorded victories over both Gary Anderson and James Wade to move three points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
The 16-time world champion got the better of Anderson by a 7-3 scoreline in his opening match in Sheffield before rounding off the evening with a scrappy 7-4 win over Wade.
Earlier in the night, Wade held his nerve in a close match with Raymond van Barneveld to run out a 7-5 victor, but the performance of week nine came from Michael van Gerwen, who averaged almost 118 in a 7-5 triumph over Robert Thornton.
The other clash on Thursday ended in a 6-6 draw between Adrian Lewis and Peter Wright, a result which leaves both men still firmly in contention for a top-four spot.
