Phil Taylor has recorded a 16-13 victory over Dave Chisnall to win the Grand Slam of Darts for a sixth time.
It appeared as though the 54-year-old would coast to another major title but he was made to fight all the way after an inspired performance from the world number eight.
Taylor didn't allow the St Helens thrower a shot at a double during the opening five legs of the contest but the momentum swung when the two-time major runner-up won 10 out of the next 15 legs to level the match.
Five successive legs from Taylor looked like it would be enough for a comfortable triumph but Chisnall hit back with three of his own to get back to 15-13 in the best-of-31 contest.
Taylor recovered to start leg 29 with a 180 and he sealed success on double 20 to deny his opponent a chance to force a nervy finale.
