Andy Hamilton to meet Michael van Gerwen in Minehead semi

Andy Hamilton has booked a semi-final clash with top seed Michael van Gerwen at the Players Championship Finals in Minehead.

'The Hammer' overcame fellow Stoke-on-Trent thrower Ian White in the last eight on Sunday afternoon.

The 2012 World Championship runner-up used just 55 darts to win the opening four legs and race into a 4-0 lead over White.

Hamilton's fine form soon dipped, though, allowing White to get back into the contest at 6-4.

However, the 20th seed, who hit four 180s, had just enough left in the tank and eventually won 9-6.
