Gary Anderson hits nine-darter on way to World Championship final

Gary Anderson is one win away from retaining his World Championship title after easing to a 6-0 triumph over Jelle Klaasen.

Gary Anderson has hit a nine-darter on the way to an emphatic 6-0 win against Jelle Klaasen in the World Championship semi-finals.

The defending champion started the match with legs of 12 and 13 darts before landing the perfect leg, following two maximums with a 141 checkout.

Klaasen got his first two legs on the board in the second before Anderson took it in a decider, and that was replicated in the third as the Dutchman struggled under the barrage of scores from his opponent.

In the fourth, Klaasen missed double 20 to reduce the deficit before witnessing Anderson go four sets ahead, which soon became five as the Scot continued to power towards the finish line.

Anderson was approaching a record-breaking average but despite it dropping to 107.32 in the sixth set, he had no problems getting over the line to set up a rematch of the 2011 final with Adrian Lewis, who beat Raymond van Barneveld earlier on Saturday night.
