Michael van Gerwen: 'I must perform against Dave Chisnall'

Michael van Gerwen admits that he needs to produce his best darts to overcome in-form Dave Chisnall in the Premier League on Thursday night.

Michael van Gerwen has insisted that he doesn't feel under extra pressure ahead of his top-of-the-table clash with Dave Chisnall in the Premier League on Thursday.

The pair, who have hit 43 maximums between them during the opening six weeks of the event, have impressed since the start of the tournament, but Van Gerwen has revealed that he isn't feeling any nerves as he looks to at least maintain a one-point lead over the St Helens thrower.

The 25-year-old told PDC.tv: "Dave's doing really well this season so I know that I have to perform as well as possible in Glasgow and that's what I'll be trying to do.

"There's no extra pressure on me because I'm at the top of the table. I want to perform better and better each week and I don't want to let myself down."

Van Gerwen has won the last seven meetings between the two players.
