Raymond van Barneveld safely through at World Championship

Raymond van Barneveld has made it through to the second round of the PDC World Darts Championship with a routine victory over Michael Smith.

The five-time champion was rarely troubled on Sunday at Alexandra Palace as he beat the Englishman 3-0.

Van Barneveld's opponent in the next round will be Brendan Dolan, who saw off Mark Jones 3-0.

Jani Haavisto beat fellow Fin Jarkko Komula 4-2, while Gary Anderson saw off Jani Haavisto 3-0.

Meanwhile, Andy Hamilton came from behind to defeat James Richardson 3-1.
