Emma Pooley claims England silver in time trial

Emma Pooley seals silver for England in this morning's cycling time trial, losing to New Zealand's Linda Villumsen.

England cyclist Emma Pooley has claimed silver in this morning's individual time trial at the Commonwealth Games.

The 31-year-old finished six seconds behind New Zealand's Linda Villumsen, who clocked a winning time of 42:25.46 to seal Commonwealth gold in Glasgow.

Katrin Garfoot sealed the bronze, finishing 48 seconds behind Villumsen to secure third.

Scotland's Katie Archibald missed out on a podium finish on home soil after claiming fifth place, while Joanna Rowsell - who won gold at the Chris Hoy Velodrome - failed to convert her heroics on the track to the road as she managed 13th.
