Debutant Voges punishes West Indies

Adam Voges scored a century on his debut to help Australia to 286-9 at tea on day two of the first Test against West Indies.

The right-handed batsman was on 45 not out heading into lunch as the Baggy Greens pegged back their opponents, and he was able to pile on further runs in the next session.

Devendra Bishoo, who had already removed Steven Smith (25), Shane Watson (11) and Brad Haddin (8), added Mitchell Johnson (20) to his collection after the restart to leave the tourists on 178-7.

Mitchell Starc was next to go, lasting just two balls before being bowled for a duck - again to the in-form Bishoo - before Nathan Lyon added 22 runs from 50 balls, on top of Voges's unanswered 126, to leave the Aussies on top in Dominica.
