Starc, Bailey star as Australia win second ODI

Australia have increased their lead in the ODI series against West Indies with a 54-run victory in the second match this morning.

The hosts batted first, and despite a slow start, managed to post a respectable target.

Phil Hughes and Michael Clarke fell within minutes of each other to leave Australia 56-4.

They then lost Matthew Wade and Glenn Maxwell on 93 and 98 respectively, thanks to good work with the ball and in the field from Darren Sammy.

It was George Bailey who saved the innings, though, with his maiden century, eventually making 125 off 110 balls to help see Australia finish on 255-7.

Three early wickets, all lbw, from Mitchell Starc saw West Indies reach only 33-3, but a top score of 83 from Kieran Powell helped steer the visitors to 166 before he fell to another Starc lbw.

West Indies struggled after that, losing Devon Thomas to the very next ball, giving Starc a five-wicket haul.

Maxwell also showed his skill with the ball taking four wickets, before Jason Holder was run out with West Indies on 212.
