Simmons reinstated as West Indies head coach

The West Indies Cricket Board has announced that Phil Simmons has been reinstated as head coach of the team.

The 52-year-old was suspended in September after criticising the selection of his one-day international squad for a tour of Sri Lanka.

Simmons claimed that "interference from outside" was preventing him from using the best players possible.

After questioning the selection process, Simmons was suspended by the WICB, but has now been given the green light to resume his role with the team.

Eldine Baptiste took over on an interim basis.
