Sri Lanka going strong against Pakistan in second Test

Kaushal Silva and Kumar Sangakkara lift Sri Lanka to 123-1 at tea on day two of the second Test against Pakistan, courtesy of an unbeaten 93-run stand in Galle.

Kaushal Silva's unbeaten half-century alongside Kumar Sangakkara has helped Sri Lanka to 123-1 at tea on day two of the second Test against Pakistan.

Following a frustrating rain-affected start to the Test, the hosts finally got proceedings underway in a shortened opening session to post 40-1.

Dimuth Karunaratne, who was caught in the slips by Mohammad Hafeez for 21 runs, is the only man to fall so far for a solid-looking Sri Lanka side in Galles.

Silva smashed 52 runs off 138 balls to help build up the Lions' lead, while Sangakkara (42) also kept things ticking along at the Galle International Stadium.
