India secure 3-1 victory over Sri Lanka

A century from Virat Kohli has given India a six-wicket win over Sri Lanka in Colombo to complete a 3-1 victory in the ODI series.

The hosts selected to bat first and were in a good position when Upul Tharanga and Tillakaratne Dilshan shared a partnership of 91 at the start of Sri Lanka's innings.

However, Manoj Tiwary was able to make an impact with the ball for India as he tore through the Sri Lankan middle order to finish with figures of 4-61.

Sri Lanka were able to post a total of 251-8, thanks to some late hitting from Ranagna Herath and Lasith Malinga.

India's reply started terribly when Gautam Gambhir was dismissed without troubling the scorers by Malinga.

The tourists looked to be in trouble on 109-4 but a partnership of 144 from Kohli (128*) and Suresh Raina (58*) was enough to complete a series triumph for India with a game to spare.
