South Africa fight back against Bangladesh on day three of the first Test in Chittagong.

South Africa have moved to within 17 runs of Bangladesh at stumps on day three of the first Test in Chittagong.

The hosts opened up a first-innings lead of 78 earlier in the day when they were bowled out for 326, but the Proteas responded by reaching 61-0 at the close of play.

Having guided their side to a score of 23 without loss at tea, Stiaan van Zyl and Dean Elgar continued their dogged partnership at the crease during the final session.

Van Zyl eventually made his way to 33 not out, while Elgar steered himself to 28 not out ahead of the fourth day of play.
