Dale Steyn is ruled out of their ICC Champions Trophy semi-final against England with a groin strain.

South Africa will be without Dale Steyn for their ICC Champions Trophy clash against England at The Oval.

The Proteas have been dealt a blow ahead of their crucial clash with news that Steyn has failed a fitness test due to a groin strain and will play no part in the encounter.

The 29-year-old has had a troubled campaign due to previous problems with a side strain, while it has been suggested that England bowler Graeme Swann may not be risked for the clash.

Meanwhile, Tim Bresnan is also expected to be out of the encounter as his wife is due to give birth.
