Graeme Smith dismisses negative tactics

Graeme Smith insists that South Africa will be positive during the third Test against England at Lord's.

Graeme Smith has dismissed claims that South Africa will employ negative tactics against England in the third Test.

The tourists lead the series 1-0 after a draw at Headingley but Smith believes that the attacking nature of his side's cricket on the final day in Yorkshire proves that they will be looking for a victory at Lord's.

"We showed with our declaration what our mindset is and I don't see it changing it Lord's at all," Smith said. "If anything, we will take a step forward. There were positives for both sides in this match and probably both teams can improve a little bit.

"From our perspective, we played positive cricket with intent. We played to win here."

The final Test match begins on August 20.
