Jacques Kallis to sit out ODI series

South Africa have opted to rest Jacques Kallis for their upcoming one-day international series against England.

The selectors have made the decision to omit the 36-year-old with September's Twenty20 World Cup in mind.

Dean Elgar, who has yet to win a cap for his nation, has taken the place of the all-rounder for the five-match series, which gets underway on Friday, August 24 in Cardiff.

Spinner Imran Tahir and all-rounder Ryan McLaren have also been recalled to the 15-man squad.
