Day one of the first Test between Pakistan and New Zealand in Christchurch has been abandoned due to rain without a ball being bowled.
After various inspections by the umpires, it was decided just after the scheduled tea break that play was not possible as the wet weather failed to ease.
The remainder of the Test is expected to go ahead without interruption as the forecast is much more hopeful for the coming days.
New Zealand are looking to bounce back after getting beaten by India, while Pakistan head into the clash on the back of last month's victory over the West Indies.
Day two will begin 30 minutes early at 10.30am local time.
