Younis Khan makes Pakistan history

Younis Khan has become Pakistan's leading run-scorer in Test match cricket.

Ahead of today's opening Test against England in the United Arab Emirates, the 37-year-old was 21 runs behind Javed Miandad's record of 8,832, which had stood since 1993.

The dismissal of Mohammad Hafeez for 98 saw Khan, batting at number four, come to the crease during the afternoon session and he had soon surpassed Miandad's total, doing so with a six off the bowling of Moeen Ali.

He eventually lost his wicket for 38 runs when he chipped Stuart Broad's delivery straight to England captain Alastair Cook.

As Khan departed the field, he did so with 8,852 runs to his name from 102 Test appearances.
