Hafeez hit with 12-month bowling ban

Pakistan's Mohammad Hafeez has been hit with a 12-month ban from bowling in international cricket.

The 34-year-old was reported to officials for allegedly using an illegal bowling method during Pakistan's 10-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the first Test in Galle.

The spinner was previously banned in November 2014 following a similar offence, and since he has been found guilty of illegal bowling twice in two years, Hafeez has been issued with an automatic 12-month suspension.

Hafeez impressed last Saturday for Pakistan by taking four for 41 and hitting 103 runs in their six-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the first one-day international of the five-match series.
