Lancashire sign Usman Khawaja

Australian left-hander Usman Khawaja signs a contract with Lancashire that will expire at the end of the season.

Australia batsman Usman Khawaja has agreed a deal with Lancashire until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old, who will arrive at Old Trafford next week, will be available for selection for all three formats of the game.

"This is a great opportunity for me and a challenge I am really looking forward to getting stuck into," said the Aussie.

"I have heard nothing but good things about the club so getting to Manchester, meeting my new teammates and contributing for the team is an exciting prospect. Every time you play cricket is a learning experience and I am looking forward to the next few months."

The left-hander has replaced compatriot Simon Katich as one of Lancashire's permitted overseas players.
