ECB chairman Giles Clarke settles his legal row with media giants IMG.

ECB chairman Giles Clarke has settled his legal row with media giant IMG.

In an email sent to the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Clarke called for IMG to face a ban from world cricket.

The 59-year-old accused the company of engaging in talks with former IPL boss Lalit Modi and a number of country cricket clubs in order to create a breakaway Twenty20 competition in England.

IMG subsequently launched a libel case in May last year, which has now been settled out of court.

A statement from the ECB read: "Mr Clarke accepts that IMG did not act in breach of ICC rules and intended to act within the official structures of world cricket.

"IMG accepts Clarke was not intending deliberately to damage its reputation."

Meanwhile, another libel suit brought by Modi against Clarke is still ongoing.
