Brendon McCullum prepared for "exciting" England

New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum believes that there is plenty to be excited about in the England squad ahead of the ODI series.

New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum has revealed that he is expecting an aggressive approach from England in the one-day international series.

The five-match series gets underway at Edgbaston on Tuesday, and the challenge will be seen as a fresh start for an England squad dominated by younger players who have impressed in county cricket.

Stuart Broad, James Anderson and Ian Bell are among the players to have been left out of the team's plans and McCullum is fully aware of the threat posed by the new-look squad.

"I think it's an exciting squad that they've picked," the Black Caps skipper told reporters. "It's obviously a little bit raw but it's full of talented players and guys who are pretty aggressive with both bat and ball. I'm sure they'll be excited about this series.

"They look like a team that is wanting to play some aggressive cricket.

"England have got some really dangerous players and judging by the comments coming out of their camp they're looking forward to branching out a little bit."

McCullum scored 77 from just 25 balls when New Zealand thrashed England in the World Cup earlier this year.
