Glamorgan allow Matthew Mott, New Zealand talks

Glamorgan have given permission to head of elite performance Matthew Mott to talk to New Zealand over their vacant head coach role.

Australian Mott began working with Glamorgan in January last year but now could become the Black Caps' head coach.

Glamorgan chief executive Alan Hamer said: "We are keen to retain Matthew Mott's services - however, like all good coaches, he has aspirations to work at the highest level and we have therefore given him our blessing to apply for the vacant head coach role at New Zealand Cricket.

"We understand that Matthew is one of a number of applicants being interviewed for this role and that the process will be concluded by the end of this month."

Mott's contract with Glamorgan has another year and a half left to run.
