India take control of second Test

VVS Laxman and Mahendra Singh Dhoni both hit centuries to help India declare on 631-7 in the second Test against West Indies at Eden Gardens this morning.

India's seventh-wicket pair batted throughout the afternoon session to put on a stand of 224, before Dhoni eventually fell for 144 after tea.

Laxman remained unbeaten when the declaration came with a score of 176.

In reply the Windies lost opening batsman Adrian Barath and Kraigg Brathwaite during the 12 overs of play that were possible with just 34 runs on the board.

Bad light then stopped the second day's play as the innings ended early.
