England lose a wicket at lunch against India

Captain Alastair Cook makes 48 not out as England reach 78-1 at lunch on day one of the third Test against India at the Ageas Bowl.

England have reached 78-1 at lunch on day one of the third Test against India at the Ageas Bowl.

Having won the toss, the hosts suffered an early scare when captain Alastair Cook was dropped by Ravindra Jadeja on 16, but the skipper recovered before making it to the interval on 48 not out.

However, Sam Robson was not so lucky as he was caught by Jadeja off the bowling of Mohammed Shami following a knock of 26.

Cook will be joined by Gary Ballance [four not out] at the crease when play resumes.
