England retain Women's Ashes in Australia with nine-wicket Twenty20 win

England retain the Women's Ashes with a nine-wicket Twenty20 victory in the multi-format series in Australia.

England have retained the Women's Ashes in Hobart following a nine-wicket victory over Australia in the first Twenty20 clash of the multi-format series.

Australia posted 150-3 in their innings after winning the toss, with Meg Lanning and Ellyse Perry contributing an unbeaten 78 and 29 respectively.

England responded through captain Charlotte Edwards, who strolled to 92 from 59 deliveries, while Sarah Taylor finished the clash with an unbeaten 50.

The tourists, who have an unassailable lead of 10-4 in the series, will lift the trophy for the second time in six months with two Twenty20 matches left to play.
