England reach T20 semi-finals

England's women have booked their place in the semi-finals of the World Twenty20 in Bangladesh.

Charlotte Edwards and her teammates got the better of Sri Lanka by seven wickets to maintain their chances of winning the tournament.

Sri Lanka batted first and were restricted to 85-9, with pace bowler Anya Shrubsole ending with figures of 3-9.

Left-arm spinner Rebecca Grundy and seamer Jenny Gunn took two wickets each.

In reply, England took 16 overs to reach their target of 86 for the loss of three wickets, with Sarah Taylor making 36 runs for the 2009 champions.

England are now assured of a place in the last four, although they could finish second in Group B if the West Indies win their last match.
