England make breakthrough at tea against Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka lose two wickets to reach 99-2 at tea on day three of the second Test at Headingley.

England have reduced Sri Lanka to 99-2 at tea on day three of the second Test at Headingley.

The tourists began the session on 22-0, but the dismissals of Kaushal Silva and Dimuth Karunaratne have left them nine runs behind England.

Silva was the first to go when he was caught by Matt Prior off the bowling of Liam Plunkett for 13.

He was then followed back to the pavilion by fellow opener Karunaratne, who made 45 before he fell victim to the same combination of Plunkett and Prior.

Kumar Sangakkara (26 not out) and Mahela Jayawardene (three not out) will resume at the crease when play continues.
