England beat Ireland in one-dayer

England have defeated Ireland by 11 runs to win their one-off one day match in Dublin.

On a rain affected day, the hosts were set the adjusted target of 129 from 23 overs, after England has posted 201-8 off 42 overs, but could only make 117.

Jonathan Trott was the highest scorer for the visitors with 69, while captain Eoin Morgan made a knock of 59 before being bowled and caught by Paul Sterling.

Ireland were 42-2 before rain halted proceedings, and despite the best efforts of Kevin O'Brien [26], William Porterfield [15] and John Mooney [15], they couldn't make the runs needed to win.
