Luke Wright believes that his participation in the Indian Premier League can help him earn an England recall.

Luke Wright has revealed that he is targeting an England recall after agreeing a deal with Indian Premier League side Pune Warriors.

The Sussex all-rounder agreed a two-year deal worth £250k with the Indian team and is hoping that his form in the competition can improve his chances of being included in England's Twenty20 World Cup squad.

Wright told The Sun: "This is a great chance to try and force my way back into England's Twenty20 plans after getting injured at the back end of last summer.

"I played in the Big Bash and got the fastest ever hundred in that competition — that and this spell in the IPL can only help my chances."

England will defend their Twenty20 world title in Sri Lanka this September.
