West Indies move to within 109 runs of England on day two of the first Test after largely frustrating the tourists in Antigua.

England have been made to toil in the field on day two of the first Test with West Indies, the home side reaching 202-4 at the close of play in Antigua.

Resuming on 268-6, England had hoped to set a commanding total with Jonny Bairstow and Chris Woakes still at the crease, but the tourists were able to add just 43 runs on Wednesday morning.

Bairstow got himself to 140 before being the last man to be dismissed by Alzarri Joseph, although it was Jayden Seales who finished with the best figures of 4-79.

Kraigg Brathwaite and John Campbell put on 83 for the first wicket before the latter fell for 35, and it appeared that England had built momentum in reducing West Indies to 127-4.

However, the home side came through almost 32 overs without losing another wicket before stumps, Nkrumah Bonner (34*) and Jason Holder (43*) leaving England frustrated throughout the final session.

Their respective knocks were in sharp contrast to Brathwaite, who raced to 55 off 70 balls before Mark Wood picked up his only wicket of the day.

While West Indies will resume on Thursday still trailing by 109 runs, another strong session will swing the momentum fully in their favour.
