Trott 'puts cricket career on hold'

England batsman Jonathan Trott has reportedly placed his cricket career on "indefinite hold" after his anxiety issues resurfaced.

The Warwickshire star is not expected to recover in time to face Sri Lanka in the first Test series of the summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Trott was forced to bow out of England's winter Ashes tour because of a "stress-related illness", and the same affliction is believed to have returned.

The player's hiatus is expected to be officially announced in the next 24 hours.
