James Tredwell aiming for regular spot

James Tredwell says that he must prove his worth to the England team during the one-day tour of India.

England spinner James Tredwell has said that he must keep on improving in order to nail down a regular spot in the team.

The 30-year-old is currently England's number one spinner on the one-day tour of India in Graeme Swann's absence and finished with figures of 4-44 as Ashley Giles's side won the first match in Rajkot.

However, the Kent captain said that now is not the time to sit back and admire his work.

"I have an opportunity here to play a few games and show what I can do and hopefully keep my hat in the ring," Tredwell told Sky Sports News.

"The way I look at it is I have to keep improving, putting performances in when I do get the chance and show what I can do in training.

"Hopefully I can get a few games along the way."

Tredwell made his ODI debut against Bangladesh in 2010.
