Dale Steyn: 'Kevin Pietersen, Jonathan Trott wouldn't get in SA team'

South Africa seamer Dale Steyn has claimed that England's Kevin Pietersen and Jonathan Trott would not get into the Proteas team ahead of their three-match Test series.

South African-born Pietersen and Trott have been key components of England's rise to number one in the world Test rankings, but Steyn believes that they would not replace anyone in the current South Africa XI.

Steyn told the Daily Mail: "Pietersen and Trott are... fantastic players but I'm not saying we're missing out because if I look at our team, who would they knock out?

"I'm happy for them that they've come over here and made good lives for themselves and achieved fantastic things in cricket but I'm not saying that we miss them at all."

The Test series starts next Thursday at the Oval.
