Rain halts play at Headingley

England's quest to win the second Test match against New Zealand at Headingley has been hampered by the wet conditions in Leeds.

Play started late this morning at 11.45am with hosting England requiring four more wickets to claim victory from the encounter.

They managed to remove Brendon McCullum and Tim Southee, but the rain started to fall more heavily and the umpires decided to take an early lunch while the covers were placed over the wicket.

When the players return, you can follow updates with Sports Mole's live text commentary here.
