Plunkett reprimanded for dangerous bowling

The England and Wales Cricket Board have confirmed that Durham quick Liam Plunkett has been reprimanded for the accidental beamer he bowled against Nottinghamshire on June 29.

Plunkett was not allowed to continue bowling after being reported by the umpires, and the ECB have now confirmed that the bowler has received a formal reprimand.

In a statement, the ECB said: "He has received a reprimand. This penalty will remain on his record for a period of two years and the accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two year period will result in an automatic suspension."

Plunkett has played 38 times for England in Tests and one-day internationals.
