India reduce England's lead to 103 as they reach 227-4 at tea on day three of the fourth Test match in Nagpur.

India edged to within 104 runs of gaining a first-innings lead as they continued to frustrate England during the afternoon session on day three in Nagpur.

The hosts resumed after lunch on 146-4 after they scored just 59 runs during a morning session that offered little in the way of excitement.

The same pattern continued after the restart as Virat Kholi and MS Dhoni continued in determined fashion as India seek the win that would see them tie the series.

England looked exasperated in the field as the anguish on Tim Bresnan's and Monty Panesar's faces told the story after both went close to picking up England's first wicket of the day.

The partnership between Kholi and Dhoni went past 400 balls just before tea to take India to 227-4, and England find themselves hoping that either batsman will feel the pressure of scoring a century as they continue to look unflappable on a slow, unrewarding pitch.
