Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has hinted that England skipper Alastair Cook could go on to score 15,000 Test runs and 50 Test centuries before calling time on his career.
Opening batsman Cook became the first Englishman to score 23 Test hundreds as his side dominated day two of the third Test against India in Kolkata, making 136 not out.
The 27-year-old also became the youngest ever player to reach 7,000 Test runs.
"With this kind of form and even if his form drops a little, 15,000 Test runs and 50 Test centuries are not beyond him," Gavaskar told Indian broadcaster NDTV. "The only unpredictable part in one's career is injuries. If he can get away without any serious injuries, then these landmarks are not beyond him."
Cook has played 86 Test matches for England since making his debut against India in 2006.
